As the Sun retires from my world
For another day
It ignites the skies
With heavens bonfires
Taking daylight away
Shimmering silver moonbeams shoot down
And fairy lights litter dark skies
As I look up and yawn
My tiredness is born
And now I know I must say my goodbyes
An inferno of crimson, orange and gold
Immerse the sky now light is old
A glorious burst of fire
Before falling gracefully
You were an angel
Bathed in white light
You were exiled
Into the dark night
The night I first saw you
I could not ignore you
I was compelled to mend
And restore you
Shimmering silver moonbeams shoot down
And fairy lights litter dark skies
As I look up and yawn
My tiredness is born
And now I know I must say my goodbyes |
